Cant play avi files on vista

  Any one got any advice? I am using vista now and i cant play avi video files, even after i have downloaded the codecs and VLC media player.. Thnx in advance..

  Most likely you need to use Windows Media Player...

  Windows media playe even worse.. cant even recognise the format,,
  at least VLC player still can play the sound, but the video is just some flashing graphics.

  I have already downloaded the necessary codecs, but some avi files still cant be played..

  try media player classic.. it can play almost every formats, including 3gp
