Notebook Display Problem

  This morning, my compaq laptop screen just went blank. At first I thought it was just lcd problem with the screen going off. I connected a LCD and CRT monitor separately to check and everything is working fine. Now I have a LCD monitor connected and everything seem fine until I started playing movies or videos...
  No Image!!
  
  All I get is a blank screen
  
  
  
  Games seem to run fine though.

  eh, u probably need a codec to play the file?

  either ur VRAM, RAM (unlikely) or gfx card failed.

  Im just looking at my laptop screen..the whole screen is black but I can faintly see videos being played on the media player. I think maybe sth to do with the lcd monitor.
  
  its a viewsonic VE710s.

  could be..now trying to get it to play movies and videos on the viewsonic lcd monitor.
