installation of USB flash drive (Win98SE)

  i tried downloading the installer from imation and installing on my 98SE but even tho the installer says ok but my laptop can't read my flash driver
  
  its a old laptop...i am wondering...maybe i should upgrade my bios?

  is it a usb2 device?

  evn tho its a 2.0 device
  
  plugging it into a 1.1 USB hub should be ok

  Can't read as in?
  
  If it says please insert the thumbdrive, either it's spoilt, or the installation didn't go successfully.
  
  Test it on a XP machine to be sure that it's OK.

  i cleared it
  
  had to uninstall my driver and rebooting before installing it and then rebooting
