laptop display problem

Hi
I have a laptop working for a few years and recently its display screen is spoilt. It will first turn red when I switched on the computer. And then it will just lost its backlight and turn dark unless I switched off and on the computer again.
Is there any way that can salvage the situation?

since you said it was a few years, i would recc you to replace it, as it's not really worth changing the whole screen.
yep, if i m not wrong, there is a problem with your backlight or a chip has fried. -

since it's a laptop, then you can connect it to an external monitor first. so that u can back up your files. after that, you can either reformat it then sell it awayOriginally posted by dokono:fujitsu

Ever heard of an external hdd?
