I could not find the Equation option in my MS PPT 07. However, it is definitely in Word 07 and Excel 07.
Insert -> Equation -> Select the type of equations you want to type. (e.g. Fraction, Script, Radical, Integral,... there is Matrix option as well.)
A suitable blue-edged textbox will appear and is formatted according to the type of mathematical equation you wanna type.
Do the inputing, the copy and paste into ppt.
Funny there is no such option in PPT 07, maybe I just did not find it.
