Tried cannotOriginally posted by allentyb:re install the avg bah
What seems to be the error? I will recommend AVG anyday =) Never gave me any problems.. You should be doing something wrong somewhere. I have it on 4 computers at my home and re-installed plenty of times. Never had any installation problems.Originally posted by Xephone_xenon:Tried cannot
huh? I thought Kaspersky is the best, so far I'm still using Kaspersky, take very little resource, never slow down my PC, alert very sensitive also.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Novice - Kaspersky
Expert - NOD32
In between - up to you.
Read... I categorized them... rather than saying which is the best.Originally posted by hunger2007:huh? I thought Kaspersky is the best, so far I'm still using Kaspersky, take very little resource, never slow down my PC, alert very sensitive also.
btw, how come NOD32 better than Kaspersky?
Wish to hear ur comment.
i should use which one?Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Read... I categorized them... rather than saying which is the best.
It will all depends on how well you know your PC. Kaspersky is best for those who don't really know their system well. Those who know their system well, go for NOD32.

The difference is in the way they work.Originally posted by hunger2007:First time I hear Antivirus also got categorize.
Antivirus will just turn on like usual, if found any virus attack, action will be taken, anybody can use.
I know my system very well, so if I use NOD32, what so special compare to others antivirus?
cool, thanks MayiOriginally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:The difference is in the way they work.
NOD32 use more of heuristics than signatures, Kaspersky is the other way round.
Heuristics detection will check for patterns of malicious softwares and flag them. You then decide if it's harmful.
That's why NOD32 is not recommended for those who don't know their system well, especially those who do a lot of tweaking and coding. Anything can trigger the heuristics.
Thankfully for Kaspersky, although it relies on signatures, its detection rates are high, to make up for the lack of heuristics. That means the chance of catching one virus is low, especially for those wild spreading ones.
The latest version of Kaspersky now also has heuristics, but it's still more user-friendly when compared with NOD32. NOD32 is more technical. Get a trial copy and try configuring it you will see the difference.
Hahaha! So we should crack them?Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:None I recommended is free, unless cracked.![]()
Last paragraph - not really. It kind of depends on the threats. I remember the day my computer got the first virus, a Blaster worm some more. -_-Originally posted by coolgeek84:Hahaha! So we should crack them?![]()
Tsk tsk.. How can you say that mayi~!
Thats y people, use AVG~! It rocks! Its easy and its effective! I haven't got infected in a long long time *touchwood* although I surf lots of pr0n, oops, I mean illegal websites..
And no matter which program u use, the user must a bit smart.. -_- Else the program doesn't matter much. U will get infected eventually :p
Eh my para is still correct! I said "a bit smart".. You are too smart :p Haha.. The only one I got installed with was some crappy CoolWWWWebSearch thingy.. But I cleared it up in about 1++ hour.. That was when I had uninstalled my AVG 6.5 to upgrade to AVG 7 -_-Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Last paragraph - not really. It kind of depends on the threats. PC - complete with MS updates, antivirus and firewall.
What I did - connect to the Net to update AV. Then very shiok liao... got the Blaster worm. And I have not even visited any websites. I nearly bang wall...
Either way, nobody would believe what AV I used at that time. It's Norton.
Immediately after the update it's caught and was quarantined. No reboots, nothing happened. Leave me with enough time to clear the Blaster mess and curse at MS to faster release a patch.![]()
CoolWWWSearch... haha... this is one of the most stubborn infections around when it first came out.Originally posted by coolgeek84:Eh my para is still correct! I said "a bit smart".. So people in ur opinion which is the WORST AV app and Why?
I would say, Noshton (best to change name, just in case they wanna sue u ^^) It uses up resources like madness and on top of that there is the stupid subscription that you have to pay and pay to keep it active and current.
In this age of open source softwares and free softwares..PLEASE~!
