For NOD32, the beta has been released since last month. The suit is great, doesn't take up a lot of resources as per its previous products.Originally posted by Erwin_Rommel:The new KIS7.0 now uses heuristics scan as well. Its customizable.
For NOD32, I heard they are releasing beta version of their internet security suite.
Its better to go online and try the trial Kaspersky version, and then buy it using their competitive upgrade options using your credit card... much cheaper than going over to computer shops and spending $88 on KIS!![]()
It doesn't uninstall properly. It's not very irritating, but if you want to change AV softwares, you will run into problems, especially with those AV softwares that detect if another AV is installed.Originally posted by Croaking_Toad:Would like to know why NAV is not a good anti-virus software. I know it takes up a lot of resources, but what other disadvantages does it have? I have been thinking of changing the software.
Not no one believes you, but the others are more popular.Originally posted by duckling:I still recommend Avira Antivir. It's free and quite highly rated. Can go compare performance here.
Why no one believes me?![]()
As far as all AV are concerned, only Trend Micro has a student rate. Can be bought from SingPost (the last I saw this advertisement was from SingPost). It's a lot cheaper, less than $50. Show your student pass and you can buy.Originally posted by 105090:how much are the student/ commercial rates if we go and buy those anti-virus program CD? like symantec, norton?
Avira is not using Kaspersky scan engine... Active Virus Shield is. It's from AOL though, and will install other programs. -_-Originally posted by Erwin_Rommel:Avira is using the Kaspersky scan engine right? hmm...
Anyone tried Bitdefender yet? $49 for its anti-virus, firewall, anti-spyware. License is 2 PCs for 2 years!
