SOMEONE HELP ME !! with this new system...

i just set up my new com as following
intel core duo E6320
Msi 975X platinum MB
320GB 7200.10 sata2 16mb
patriaot pc2-6400 80mhz ddr2 1gb CL5 X2
samsung dvd drive
Asus EAH 2900XT
500 walts
trinity CASE
I installed it with win XP.
I had this problem since i got the com 1 week ago.. the system seems to be laggy and hangy
whenever i load a cd or a big file like OPENING MY COMPUTER i will have screen hang and sound hang for 5~10 seconds... problems? with hardware,software? someone PLEASE HELP ME!!!!
Not enough voltage or sumthing?!!?! SOMEONE PLEASE !@!@!
my system is not hot or overcooked... pLEASE HELP ME !!! THANKS ANYONE !! -
Might be hardware. Your RAM especially. CL5 is a high value.

ok so you are using a 2900xt that itself need a 550 watt psu.
maybe get a bigger psu or underclock your ram.
your ram is damn good you should get vista to unleash it's f**kin fury. -

Basically, it's just some ratio.
The higher the CL number, chances of it affecting the speed is high...

it seems to me when i read the text on my graphic card's box.. it says a mininum of 500walts system power supply and a pci express supplymentary power connector... i dun think it takes 550 walts.
so what can i do now? -

i dun get the last post. is the TEXT on the box that is not the key or the power supply is not the key.. and guys.. i can't find newer bios...

Can you try enabling dual channel for your RAM.
One stick of RAM in the different colour slot.
One stick of RAM in orange slot, another in green slot. -
What PSU are you using, it looks WAY underpowered for your system

From the system just the graphics card alone draws about 260-300Watts of power since it has 2 power connectors.Now you are left with only about 200 watts to power the entire system, which is simply not enough considering your set up(C2D with 320GB harddisk). you have to consider efficiency of the PSU as well, PSU are not 100% efficient, so it might say "500watts", but efficiency of a PSU range from 70%(lousy ones) to 90+%(good ones), so in reality(if your psu is good), you only get about 400+ watts to work with
