Firefox bookmarks all gone

  Was surfing the net when the window prompt me
  
  explorer error blah blah blah
  
  i click close but the prompt window still there
  
  so i bookmark the page where im at
  
  afterwhich, i restarted the comp
  
  after restarting, every single bookmark is gone.
  
  Help Pls ?
  
  will i be able to get back all my bookmarks ?
