what are all the drivers needed for video card and sound card etc if i wanna reformat my comp and how do i back them up with a thumbdrive

If you want them and have lost the CD, go to the manufacturer's site and download.
All drivers are installed either automatically or manually, so there's no need to backup.
You will need to backup your files though, such as your documents, pictures, etc. Anything of importance.
Programs can't be backed up as they need to be written to the registry before they can be used, otherwise you will just find errors.
This is Windows, not Linux.

Custom made computers come with manufacturer's CD. For example, MSI motherboard will have a CD from MSI, Creative sound card CD, ATI graphics card CD, etc.
All the drivers are contained in these CDs.
For OS, you have to buy a copy of your own. Or get a Linux.
If you have lost your manufacturer's CD, please go online and download them.
