USB Mass Storage Device (i go "safely remove hardware" it)

on device manager there's a yellow question mark on the USB Mass Storage Device icon
and my com now cannot detect any thumbdrive, mp3...
i double click the icon and it says...code:Windows cannot use this hardware device because it has been prepared for "safe removal", but it has not been removed from the computer. (Code 47)
To fix this problem, unplug this device from your computer and then plug it in again.
how to unplug and plug in the device? i oso dunno where is it located
got alternative solutions?

Did you shut down the computer without removing of these devices?
Follow the advice, unplug and plug it in again. Then safely remove it. -

i never shut down without removing any CDs, thumbdrives etc before
the prob now is how to make it detect those devices again? -
