  HIMEM & Extended Memory ?
  
  i am using a new computer optimized for games, but it hangs almost every time. i have been told to decrease the HIMEM and increase the extended memory.
  
  How do i do that from desktop ?

  i am using windows xp sp2 and trying to run 3d games, namely c&c3 tiberium wars and even warcraft3
  
  im using c2d e6600, 1gb ram, D965ry board and an asus en8500gt
  graphic cards

  I wonder what programs are using special drivers that they modify the configuration files in XP.

  You can try this, but I'm not so familiar with editing those files. Edit wrongly, you can reinstall Windows.
