Which AntiVirus is the best

  im using McAfee currently. which comes with my laptop.
  i heard from a technician that AVG is a bug/virus itself. issit true?

  I'm using AVG leh.... I personally find it pretty good for my purposes. If it has viruses, then that's news to me.
  
  Just stay away from Norton... it eats up a lot of system resources.

  avg is not a bug/virus

  I dunno but avg screwed up some of my programs. I had to reformat windows.

  im personally not sure whether its a bug or virus.
  i heard from a technician who do backups, recovery, restore, computer analysis, repair n alot more. he says that it is a virus/bug itself.
  
  so any computer pros can explain? perhaps the moderator? XD thks!

  AVG is not a virus. No programs on this earth are free of bugs because humans aren't perfect.
  
  McAfee is good enough, but still not as good when compared with others. Their firewall, though, is one of the best.

  Err... well... it did happen to some of the PCs at one point of time.
  
  If AVG screwed up, try AntiVir. It's FOC as well, detection rates are great and isn't so resource intensive. But it lacks an email scanner. If you have no email programs, then it's OK. If you, then you just have to be extra careful.

  No, it isn't true.
  
  If there was any bugs, it happened last year, when it mistakenly flagged some Windows files as virus and quarantined it. That literally crashed Windows. Luckily, it's only one file; booting to DOS and replacing the Windows file cured it.
  
  AVG is also pretty sensitive to file changes; any upgrades or patches will trigger it. Anybody who doesn't know Windows well will allow the changes and there goes Windows.
  
  That technician needs to study again... in my opinion. For someone who analyzes computers and have so little knowledge... well... he can give the job to someone else.
