  I have never done before. Just wanna host my own site maybe post photos, blog, etc. Does not matter to me local or overseas, cPanel or not, but must be reliable and trustworthy, with decent speed.

  Don't go for bravenet free hosting for that 50MB space and 1.5GB bandwidth without PHP/MYSQL.
  
  Don't go for salmonhost also, $20 per month for their 1GB space and 15GB bandwidth is a rip off.
  
  You shouldn't worry about the control panel because if you are new you will get use to the panel quickly.
  
  If you a noob you better do some research first or you will end up paying more money for less stuff.
