Msn virus?-Pic.zip

  hmm... i received a file(pic.zip) from my friend, im sure it is auto sent, the message accompanying it was: "look at this cool pictures!" or sth like that
  
  but after AVG scan, nothing found... i accepted the file

  Ask your friends if they have received any messages from you about pic.zip.
  
  If yes, you've gotten the virus, which doesn't even require you to open the file. If no, then it's OK.

  PIF and GIF is only a letter difference. It's no surprise that some people can't tell, unless you are observant enough. Windows doesn't show file extensions by default any way, they won't know.

  It could be the earlier variants that you got... or somebody in your house used MSN and tiok..

  Well, I've had a couple of attempts by other computers trying to send me the virus through MSN.
  
  Luckily I didn't accept the file sia.... but I'm scanning my computer anyway just in case.

  So far, there's no sign of the virus spreading to your computer if you don't accept the file or if somebody attempts to send you the file. But well, no harm scanning. Knowing Windows, everything goes.

  the anti virus keep poping up when ever i log into windows and when ever i open my msn messanger.
  will provide the screenshots here...=/
  
  and i scan with avg, avast liao
  still not clean yet,
  my contacts still receive the virus asking them to accept.....=/
  wtf is wrong?
