ok i know about the picturealbum msn virus. more details and other variants here.
http://www.happy-messaging.com/messenger/virus/first of all, this virus and its variants auto sends copies of itself to all your online contacts. note that they mus accept and dl it and run it to actually infect the system.
to stop it, go to task manager and close ur msn first of all to stop its spread.
go to 'tools', 'folder options', and show hidden files and folders, also uncheck 'hide protected operating system files'.
this virus when run, auto creates backup copies in ur windows folder and hides itself as a hidden protected system file.
search for the file nw, and delete all traces of it.
ur contacts will now be unable to get infected. however this is not the end.
hidden again are the dll files generated that auto sends the virus out.
i manage to find a few of them, this virus is very tricky as it uses many many layers of protection, to cover its tracks. i'll see if i can post up all the dll's and registry entries it generates.
below is a link to an earlier version of the virus know with a slightly different file, photoalbum2007. note that there are many more versions out there, mostly with a file name change but its still the same virus
