Cranky Computer, in need of help!

Something is really wrong with my computer, but i don't know why and what.
Computer stats:
AMD athlon (tm) 64x2 dual
Core Processor 3800+
2.01ghz, 0.98gb of RAM
First it started when my comp hanged at the windows xp loading screen with the loading bar. It just hanged there and wont load xp. So i formatted the comp and reinstalled windows xp
Now, another problem occurs. I'm only running like a few programs (ie, ms word and media player) then everything starts to be jerky. Sound will hang at playing and window will freeze. Then one blue error screen come out, about the xp detecting system error, shutting down to prevent further damage. And something about phsyical memory dump.
Then i restart, it'll take a long time to detect my hard disk and dvd drive. My comp is damn unstable but i have no idea what is wrong with it.
Also previously, i have a asus graphics card but due to some reason, the screen flickers on startup. So i removed it and went to manufacturer to get a new one. They tested on the spot and was fine but when i put it into my motherboard (msi) there's no signal output.
What is wrong with my computer? Software or hardware fault? Possible that motherboard is faulty? -

2. I need the full specs, particularly your motherboard brand and model number.
3. Note down the blue screen error.
1. Right click My Computer and select Properties.
2. Select the Advanced tab.
3. Under Startup and Recovery, click the Settings button.
4. Under System Failure, untick the Automatically Restart box.
5. Click OK all the way to apply the settings.
When you get the blue screen of death, note down the error.
There are two parts which are important:
0X8 alphanumeric
File name if exist
The 0X8 alphanumeric looks something like this: 0X0000008E -

1) My comp has been with me for about 1 year. Only few months back got some problems with the graphics card (screen jerked and hanged in coloured screen). Took it out and has been running on motherboard graphics since then.
2) My motherboard is MSI K9NGM-L
And dumb me forgot to send the warranty card. Valid for 3 years somemore, wTF. DUI. -
It might be conflicts with the on-board graphics... need to disable it before you insert the external graphics card.

yup... the graphics card problem is secondary. i have already removed it. but even when it's running on the motherboard alone, the problem still occurs?
any idea?

Are you still having of blue screen of death errors? If yes, follow the steps to note it down and post back the error... as for the graphics error, if it's still having problems despite you not using external graphics card, it's a motherboard issue.
Windows hanging... could be due to your hardware issue... -
sorry for the hiatus. anyway, yah the problem is on and off lah. hardware issue? most probably the motherboard? shucks no warranty how.

I think that your problem is with the hard disk. The hard disk can cause problems like you described. Open up and touch the hrad disj outer casing with your hand and see if it is extremely hot (not comfortable to touch for long). If it is extremely hot, it would definitely be the hard disk problem. Even if it is not too hot, you cannot rule out HDD drive problem.

Please open Event Viewer (Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer)
On your left hand side, right click on System and select Save Log File As...
In the File Name field, give it name.
In the Save As Type field, select Text (Tab Delimited) (*.txt) from the drop-down list.
Click Save.
Post back this log. -
Your hard disk is the cause of errors. How many hard disks do you have?

1 in the desktop i'm using currently. though i can cannibalise from other comp? so confirmed hard disk problem?
how to rectify it? take out the hard disk and bring to manufacturer? so the conflict with the graphics card also arises from my faulty hard disk? -

Red part: Can you please grab a screenshot of your system. (Press Alt + PrtSc or Print Screen). See the instructions below:
Go to Start > Run and type in msinfo32
On your left hand side, click on the + sign to expand Hardware Resources
Under Hardware Resources, click on IRQs.
Before getting a screenshot, make sure that these 3 columns (on your right hand side) can be seen properly and clearly. I don't want it to end with .... (which means it's cut off)

Although it says OK, I doubt it's ever OK.
Try disabling the audio on-board, hard disk generally don't share IRQ resources. -
how to? disable already means dont have sound?
