Wireless card or wireless adapter.
It comes in PCI cards or USB adapters.
And if he doesn't have a wireless router in the first place, I see no point in getting one either. -
actually if it is wireless for desktop, there's no point in buying cuz it's better to just pull a lan cable over to the router
But if it's for an old laptop, perhaps he's thinking of using wireless@sg mah -

Either pull cable or get the wireless stuffs up. If there's no other details, I don't think there's much purpose in trying to help.
