  i use it to see my frens online. then u can join them on the same server also.
  u can also chat with them like msn like that,
  create a permanent chat room to meet n king gai,
  call them and speak wif them ingame like teamspeak.
  track how long u been playing certain games
  instantly launch the game frm xfire. etcetc
