  Hi guys,
  
  i'm using a pathetic 20gb harddisk. If i plan to upgrade to (let's say) 250gb hard disk, how do i clone the things i have in the 20gb hard disk to the 250gb hard disk without reformatting?
  
  then if i have them cloned to the 250gb hard disk, the softwares i have do i need to reistall? the a/c(s) i have in the window xp will still be there of i still have to recreate the a/c(s)?

  1.Use some disk cloning software like norton ghost or acronis true image.
  
  2.all you existing software and file(including XP user account) will remain all intact.

  Create a snapshot/image of your disk/system/etc.

  You don't have to reinstall your softwares since it's called CLONING. Anyway, the correct name for it is called imaging.

  u can jz backup those stuff u wan in dvds/cds or external hdd... 20GB not tat much...

  Second question, yes. Acronis True Image does have a trial.

  hi all,
  
  i have a qns on hard disk. my old HD is using pin to connect to the mother board. recently it spolit. and i when to buy a new HD.
  
  reach home and i realise that the New HD connection is not using pin to connect. i duno how to describe ... it not pin lor.
  
  i cant use it at all.. any help?

  That means you have bought a SATA hard disk. Either you exchange for an IDE HDD, or find a converter for it.

  Sorry i duno anything about IT. hmm, just that i cant connect the new HD to my motherboard lor. mother board and the old HD both using pin. but not the new one.
  
  so i duno issit wasted my money for the new HD anot?

  Go to Sim Lim Sq. Level 5. There are some shops selling SATA to IDE convertor. Cost only S$20 or lesser. And before you connect up, do ensure that the small sharp soldering pins do not comes into contact wif your HDD or sure 'shorted' the moment u start up your pc.

  Hi thanks, will go sim lim to get the IDE convertor.
  
  when i encounter problem when connecting, i'll ask again in forum.
