"Open with"

  Need to troubleshoot:
  
  Everytime i click on an mp3 file, which normally opens automatically with WMP11, will not do so now. It shows me the "open with..." dialog everytime. How do I fix this?

  open with >choose prog > tick "always use the selected program to open this kind of file"

  u install some new program which also can play mp3 files izzit? maybe that new program by default will check if the files are associated with it and reasssociate it back i think.
  if stil cannot, try open ur wmp, go tools, options, file types, then select the type of files u wan to use wmp to play.

  re-install WMP, set it as you're default player.
  
  strange, coz Mp3 files will usually auto open in a player, WMP/Itunes/Real/Winamp
  
  won't ask u to chose.

  1. Open My Computer
  
  2. Click on Tools > Folder Options
  
  3. Click on File Types tab
  
  4. Under Registered File Types, find MP3
  
  5. Click on Reset or Change and change it to WMP.
  
  Or
  
  1. Open Windows Media Player
  
  2. Go to Tools > Options
  
  3. Click on the File Types tab
  
  4. Tick all the boxes there or only the boxes you want
  
  Or
  
  1. Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
  
  2. Left Hand Side, click on Set Program Access and Defaults
  
  3. Tweak the settings there

  I tried everything listed in this thread. Only the first one you mentioned worked
  
  To be precise:
  
  1. Control Panel
  2. Folder Options
  3. File Types
  4. Select "MP3"
  5. Advanced
  6. Actions from "Open" to "Play"
  
  Problem solved!
