powerpoint and pdf format

Hello everytime i download my school notes from the school website, the presentation is always in pdf format, as in the slides are directly like mounted onto the white paper.
IS there anyway i can change the pdf format to ppt format because i need to edit the presentation to suit my style for printing. (the background is all purple in colour and it watstes ink) -
I think the purple background was there so that people cannot reproduce it via photocopy.
There are softwares that can break PDF files, but again, you'd need to buy them (or get them via the other means).
How about just copying the text and pasting them on another software - drag and highlight, and then copy? -
Or you can just ask the lecturer to change it to without background so that you can print it out... A lot of students will thank you for that

Adobe Acrobat Professional - not all students will have, unless you are doing research work.
Adobe Photoshop CS3 - students may have, if schools have purchased and want students to upgrade to it. Otherwise, most will be using CS2.
And you know you can set your printer to print in black and white. -
