Connecting wireless AP to Starhub modem

doing this for the first time so need some tips...
gonna get a wireless ap soon and currently using starhub cable..
wat steps needed uh? any settings to configure?
got 2 systems at hm..one is my work laptop and 1 is a desktop -
ur laptop and desktop mus each hav a wireless adapter to receive the wireless signal.
set an encryption code, aka wep for the wireless to prevent unauthorized access.
(its normally behind the router)
when u on ur com, ur adapter will prolly auto scan the air for any network and auto connect to the strongest one.
but, be4 it connects, go to settings and network settings, input the encryption key in the properties and set it to auto connect to it once available.

talking abt procedures to put AP to my starhub modem...
anyone done b4?
or issit just a simple plug to modem and switch on both?
cos when i set up APs at my workplace...i deal with switches and just inform my higher ups that i wanna implement wireless at different rooms and they do the rest such as open ports and etc...configuration of APs i can do easily....
understand that dial up would now be done at AP side instead of modem as now the modem turns into a bridge
wonder if home is like that?
do i inform starhub that i am doing so?? -
