Faint Screen

hey, suddenly, my laptop screen became so faint, that it almost blends in with the black screen. but the pictures are still there, as when i tilt the screen, i'm still able to see due to the reflection.
can anyone tell me what happened? -
hw old is ur laptop? think the backlight fail le..... lcd screens have a light behind so u can see the stuff.

Can you please adjust the brightness of your screen?
And if you are on battery, please plug in the power supply. Some laptops, when on battery mode, will reduce the brightness to near zero. -
battery low?backlight gone off?

I have the same problem with mine...
my other dell notebook also have problem with the display
it once turned all red

erm. is there anyway that i could have accidentally touched something?
anw, it's not the brightness. i've already tried toggling with it. -
still on warranty? still got then jus go back change for brand new one....

what i did was :
turn off the laptop, remove the power cable and the battery.
wait for a while, reconnect the power cable and turn on the laptop (w/o the battery)
for the dell case, i have to go into SAFE MODE and then restart the laptop again... -
actually, are u still using that laptop to type all this? anyway, dont think the backlight is user controlled. is turn on automatically when the laptop is on.
if u r still using that laptop to type, one temp solution is to shine ur own light on the screen to see it.... -

actually, sometimes, when i turn the laptop on, the backlight is on for a while, but after that just disappears.
=/ not really my laptop. it's my sisters :X now trying to charge it. -
i guess shld be backlight prob la cos u say can see some faint stuff ma. if its low brightness or off, shouldnt be able to see anything at all. but quite rare for backlights to spoil so early. they have pretty long lifespans. mine has lasted me 4 yrs and still going.
mus be u always poke ur lcd rite?

You may have to check the hardware... since changing the brightness settings doesn't help...

ACERs usually got this FN + F6 feature...switches off the backlight...does ure LG have the same?

connect the laptop to a monitor and see if it's faint too

I simply restart my laptop and it's back to normal.
