Need help with my computer

  I have a problem with my computer so i would like to enquire the help from experienced forumers here. Thanks in advance.
  
  When i start up my computer, it shows a black screen with Alert! System battery voltage is low. Press F1 to continue or press F2 to enter setup.
  
  I dunno what the above means but i dint think it was anything serious until just yesterday i could not sign in to MSN and my computer's date and time became screwed. It would always revert to Monday February 23 2004 3.20 AM.
  
  o.O i tried calling dell service support(my com's dell) and the technician on duty said my support contract has expired and needs to be renewed before he can help. !@#$%^&* they do that when my com is like that.
  
  So anybody knows what's wrong with this? Thanks in advance if anybody could help solve this. I hope not to reformat my com again >.>

  change your cmos battery
  
  looks like a 20cent coin on your motherboard one

  ur motherboard old model le. nowadays all use flash bios liao. cmos need battery de, then when battery no more, u get these kinda errors.
  change battery..

  It's your CMOS Battery that's located on your Motherboard. You've to open out the System and locate the battery that's about a 20c Coin Size. Just take it out and go to any Conveniences Store / SuperMarket and purchase a new piece to replace will solve the problem.

  anw is it because its running out of battery that's why some programs on my computer cannot work? o.O like msn

  well some programs might nt run correctly if the time is wrong. change the batt first then see how lor.

  To log in to MSN, correct time and date is needed. If you don't have the right time and date, you can't log in.

  wad would be a example for sum1 to not be able to log in msn?

  There are a lot of examples whereby someone won't be able to log in to MSN. A wrongly configured firewall, wrong date/time, etc.
  
  The specifics are detailed in MSN itself, when it shows you the error.
