As the title says, I'm thinking whether installing a firewall will cause latency during gaming as it checks the data packets passing through the internet connection. And if does, is it a significant amount of latency? or almost unnoticable? Any ideas?
It does, but it's not so obvious...
Hmm...after some googling, seems like Comodo Firewall Pro is one of the best around despite the fact that it's free. Any opinions about this?
It's pretty easy to use, although I think the interface sucks. There's also an advanced mode for advanced users, not bad at all.
But one thing, if you accidentally block something, you will find it a headache to unblock. I did that, and I can't unblock. Uninstalled it.
My preference is towards Sunbelt Kerio, but that one is more for advanced users. It works a lot like Sygate (gone after being brought by Symantec).
Bah. I just uninstalled Comodo after I came back this night to see disconnection notices during the evening when I was away. Argh it's a pain to get pass the Alcohol's server check.
