Noob question on PC problem

Why is it as I minimise my window as my program is open, it is no longer visible on my taskbar below?
It's only when I press Alt-Tab, all the windows will show. This will be unsightly as I have no idea how many programs run in my computer (example like playing songs, download files, using words document, surfing forum). How do I solve this problem so that the taskbar will show the number of windows below? -
deselect auto hide taskbar

Normal users when they open a new window or minimise program, they will get this:
But mine is empty...
it's only when i press Alt-Control, I can see these r the programs running...
how do i get back my default setting? -

Right click on this link and select Save Target As. Save it to your desktop or wherever that is convenient for you. Double click to run it. See if you can get those minimized programs on the taskbar back. -

i was angry cos my bro dunno install some printer problem, then the taskbar has this problem. worst case i have to reformat my pc. -
