NEED URGENT HELP

hello to all i have a big headache regarding this problem.
2 days ago, my boss bring his laptop and ask me help him reformat as he is nt gd at computers.but he had 400 mb of files(ms word, pics) so i suggested him to xfer to my creative stone as i had over 600 mb free. after reformat his laptop ok le, now i cannot open my creative stone at all.i connect it to my/his laptop/pc we either see no device found or getting a I/O error message.please help or advise on wad we can do, is it possible for me to go down to creative and ask them to help as the files are all still inside mp3. he is using a toshiba laptop which he bought it last yr so if worse case scenario, can he go down to toshiba to do some memory backing up to get back the files? the files are really impt and i would appreciate ur help.

Can you try installing the Creative software on his laptop first, restart computer and see if it works.

the stone no software, basic plug n play type.1st time i canot open the mp3, isitpossible to use the toshiba to do back up memory? is it expensive if waraanty expire in june 07?

monday before i xfer the data to it, it works like a charm on both laptops n pc, canot be usb cable prob cos i used 3 diff kind all canot.now my mp3 cant even on as got ms word files inside.the msword files v v v v impt, really need it by fri/sat.is there anyway can extract it out? the files all still inside the stone as nv delete but jus canot open the mp3

If the firmware corrupted, you won't be able to retrieve anything.
Can you please try the manual way to force it to open... some devices are just so idiotic in Windows.
Say your removable drive is F.
Go to Start > Run and type in F:\ and press Enter. -
the file directory is corrupted and unreadable..pls help i have 3 kids to feed..

1. Start > Run and type in cmd
2. cd F:\ or just F:\ or just F:
Can you access it?
Replace F with your removable drive letter. -
tried, mine is H: doenst works either same error msg

Last chance... might not work. Download a Live Linux distro and boot up to it. Plug in the MP3 player and see if it is detected. If yes, you can try and recover the files.
Knoppix is recommended as it can "see" Windows partition.
You can transfer those files via Command Prompt in Knoppix. I think the command is copy.
For more help, type in copy --help. Note that it's two dashes (-) -

Actually, its due to a .ini file that was created inside your mp3 player. It disables opening or give error messages depending on how it has been modified. Lucky yours is not xbox 360, if you have IO error, your xbox will have the three rings of death.

What I did was search for a file that is inside ( die hard 4.avi)
and when it show up in the search results ( H:Movies\diehard4.avi ), I right click and choose 'Open Containing Folder'. From then on, I click up, up and deleted the ini file. -

unscrew the mp3 and take out the flash memory. then use a special reader to read the flash mem
