nid sum help..my microsoft word go haywire

  l hab a microsoft word 2000, but today l open it and wanted to do sum work, but seems like there is sum errors in it...
  
  this is the 1st problem, y is there sumtinz there...
  
  
  
  and
  
  the 2nd problem is, y is there a full stop when l press spacebar? shldnt it be a spacing in between the words

  Tools > Options
  
  Select the View tab
  
  Untick these boxes: Paragraph marks and Spaces
  
  Click OK to apply the settings
