Computer won't load to windows

  Ok basically this happen to my sis's com. She has this software problem which i suspected due to the registry in system32 tat coz the com to reboot itself some time. i tried to reformat the com by inserting the format disc (acer com) but i didn't get to reformat it when i restarts.
  
  So being lazy, i nv formats, so after a few weeks the com now cannot load to windows.
  
  When startup, it loads normally with the black screen of load manually/ load last good configuration setting/ safe mode etc. Tried all above and it get to a black screen with nothing loaded.
  BTW, it's 3yrs com.
  
  Any advise? thanks.

  do a destructive reformat to fix that problem.

  You cannot reformat and reinstall Windows from another company's recovery CD. The discs are created specifically for that company and it will fail to run.
  
  Do you have the Windows CD? If yes, boot up to it and try repairing Windows.

  erm, is your sis com an acer? if not , u cant use the acer disc

  Can you check that the BIOS is set to boot up from the CD.

  When you start up, press F2.

  ok mine was DEL for (enter setup), F12 for (manual boot)
  So what to do next?

  Not sure for Acer PC, just use the up down arrows to navigate around. Press Enter to get deeper into the settings.
  
  Then you will see something like First Boot Device, Second Boot Device, etc.
  
  Set the First Boot Device to your CD/DVD drive and put the CD in.

  Different pc comes with different rescue disk with the setting for each bios... switch will cause more harm...
  
  I think a reformat of the system will do the job...

  1. Ask her what she install
  
  2. Ask her what she delete
  
  3. Buy a new XP CD. There has been problems reported with the Acer Recovery CD lately. Quite a few I know using Acer has been affected.
