problems with vista

i've got 2 problems: i have no audio devices on my com. and it was working fine yesterday night.
how>? i'm using creative cambridge soundworks fps 2000
i duno how to install back again
and i got this crap skin and i want to change it back to the original vista skin, but it's not under personalise. HOW??? pls help thanks.

1st problem - try going to Creative website to download the drivers.
2nd problem - that's the classic Windows theme. You can try changing the theme by right clicking on your desktop and select Properties (I think). If it's not called Properties, then it's some other options. Vista changed a lot of things and I've not been catching up with it.

Instead of Classic, select Vista or whatever option that is there. -
my dad said the problem could be resolved by system restore. the problem is, system restore cannot work. neither can windows defender. what happened?

System Restore probably won't help.
Click on the Windows logo button and open Windows Defender. Check that it's not disabled.
Also try this: Start > Run and type in services.msc
Check that Windows Defender is not disabled there as well. -
never mind, everythign is not working, i think i got a virus.

anyone know of any virus that stops windows processes from functioning? very the sian....got to reformat my damned com. on sept 11 summore. GRR

Heh, as far as I know, it's not that easy to infect Vista. But I won't take it for granted. Can you open Windows Defender? Can you start the Vista Firewall?
If you have no problems with these 2, I don't think you've got a virus. To double check, do an online scan.
It's probably some odd settings that prevented them from working properly. -
For the 2nd problem:
A while ago I experienced minimized applications missing on taskbar (basically it screwed up). Ask for help here but nothing worked. Then I found a program online that solved the problem. It says it reload the shell or sth.
The program also solves many other problems relating to taskbars. One of which is "Stuck in classic view".
Its designed for XP but no harm trying.
