win xp cannot install. help!

  im having win xp home edition sp1.
  after formatting the hdd, when winxp starts to install, it stopped and say "asms file needed for win xp home edition sp1"
  and it ask me to specify the path for the file and i saw this msg in the path location 'globalroot\device\cdrom1\i1386'
  but the thing is asms is a folder.
  
  i change it to the cdrive F:\i1386 but cannot.
  how?

  For XP Pro, but there's not much difference between XP Home and Pro anyway.
