TRUE or NOT? Hoax? Real? Any confirmation?
Please Be Extremely Careful especially if using internet mail such as
Yahoo, Hot mail, AOL and so on. This information arrived this morning
direct from both Microsoft and Norton.
Please send it to everybody you know who has access to the Internet.
You may receive an apparently harmless email with a Power Point
presentation 'Life is beautiful.'
If you receive it DO NOT OPEN THE FILE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES , and
delete it immediately. If you open this file, a message will appear on
your screen saying: 'It is too late now, your life is no longer
beautiful.' Subsequently you will LOSE EVERYTHING IN YOUR PC and the
person who sent it to you will gain access to your name, e-mail and
password.
This is a new virus which started to circulate on Saturday afternoon.
AOL has already confirmed the severity, and the antivirus software's are
not capable of destroying it. The virus has been created by a hacker who
calls himself 'life owner.'
PLEASE SEND A COPY OF THIS EMAIL TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS and ask them to
PASS IT ON IMMEDIATELY

Yes, but new, undetected viruses will always go through the scanner. As long as it's not detected by antivirus programs, it will go through as clean. A better way will be to use multiple scanners.Originally posted by Pion:i tot hotmail got scanning one?
Eh...Unlikely cause when you open email it wont auto download to your com and unlikely they will delete all your computer files...Hmm where did you get this information from?Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:TRUE or NOT? Hoax? Real? Any confirmation?
At the rate new viruses are created, the chances of you knowing is getting lower, unless it's done by some script kiddie.Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:anyway since I received that email, there was no report of anything happening and so i am inclined to think that it was a hoax.
an interesting note.
Last night BBC was talking about virus creators and hackers and how they have changed from school-boys bravado to sophisticated tools of the criminal underground.
If you are attacked by a virus, the chances are, you will not know!
