In Windows, each network has its own security policy. The same rule won't apply to another network.Originally posted by Rockhound:after a while....changing from lan points to wireless...it would somehow enable itself...

Company's PC or your own PC?
If it's company, there may be security policies in place to re-enable it after it's be disabled.
If it's your own, then your company may have ran some scripts silently on your PC to change some of your PC's security settings.
As a temporarily measure, try this for Windows Firewall:
1. Start > Run and type in services.msc and press Enter.
2. Locate Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing and double on it.
3. Under Startup Type, select Disabled from the drop-down menu.
4. Click on the Stop button.
5. Click OK to apply the changes.
For 3rd-party firewall, right click on the firewall and select Exit or open the firewall and click on File > Exit or Stop monitoring. Generally. Instructions will differ from one firewall to another.
same thing actually...wireless APs just tap on current lan points...Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:In Windows, each network has its own security policy. The same rule won't apply to another network.
LAN is LAN, wireless is wireless.

they share the same policies
Try using the Services Control Panel to disable it.Originally posted by Rockhound:yup...just find it irritating that while moving around my workplace...my windows firewall keep enabling when i disable it...i cant even use my projectors cos the firewall keeps going on
