Windows Live Messenger

  need help
  
  how come my msn keep disconnecting/logging out every now and then...
  
  sign in liao a few mins later den d/c, sign in again still d/c after a while...
  
  and everytime when i tried to talk to my friends, when i hit "enter" after typing, i get disconnected...
  
  can anyone help mi solve this problem?

  causes may be...
  1. ur internet
  2. WLM bug
  3. ur com bug
  4. WLM not updated to the latest version
  
  u try reinstall WLM and update to the latest version which is WLM 8.5

  WLM 8.5 is still in beta.
  
  Anyway, check that your internet connections have no problems.

  8.5 not beta anymore liao i think
  cos last time when i hover my cursor on the taskbar icon, it shows "Windows Live Messenger 8.5 (Beta) - Signed in" but after it says got an update & i go update liao, now it says "Windows Live Messenger - Signed in"
  i checked the About Messenger, it says
  Windows Live Messenger
  Version 2008 (Build 8.5.1288.816)

  Hmm.. I haven't received any official word from MS.
  
  A Google search still leads to their Betas page.

  Confirm it's still in beta. I've got the latest beta. The stable version will give out this error if you try to install over it:
  
  
  
  Most likely you already have a beta version of WLM and updated it when MS has released some updates for it.

  ur msn connection is poor... maybe some of ur port is block... or s/w instability.. got firewall?

  before i reinstall Live Messenger, i onli encounter frequent d/c, still able to initiate/chat with my friends
  
  after dling new client and installation, i not onli encounter frequent d/c, the moment i tried to initiate a chat with any of my friends, i get d/c
  example: i type "Hi" and the moment i hit [Enter] i get d/c.

  i update my spaces.live but my contact card got no background. why ah.

  i dun think is firewall problem coz i allow access for my Live Messenger liao

  Try the latest beta or aMSN.

  Err... uninstall either ZoneAlarm or NOD32.
  
  Running 2 security suites will conflict.

  eh actualli i using ZoneAlarm Security Suite for its firewall onli. Anti Virus disabled.

  Can you double check your ZoneAlarm and NOD32 settings, make sure nothing is blocked.
