wierd problem

  Hi all, all my files icons in my computer suddenly have extention behind the file name. For example,
  
  Normally, there will only be "untitled", but now there is ".bmp" and this is happening to ALL my files in my computer. So it looks a bit irritating to me.
  
  Anyone can tell me how can I fix it back? Thanks!

  click tools, folder options, then under view, look for hidden files and folders, click the do not show extensions
  
  but i tink showing it is better, cos if it is a virus, the extension is .exe, the file nam eis picture.jpg, and u cannot see the .exe, u double click it means tio virus

  Thanks dude! Don't know what happened to my comp this morning also. Suddenly the anti virus keep popping up saying theres virus and it's deleted. But when I close it, it came back again in less then 5 minutes.
  
  That was when I was using the school's connection. Then all of a sudden all the extension came out... It's fine now though.

  Your school tomorrow will be in shock. Either they can't change some settings of the folders, or they can't open any of the drives or a combination of both.
