I am using MSN Messenger 7.0.0820 on Win2k. Was working fine up till 2 days ago.
Now when I click Sign In, it shows me "Signing in to MSN Messenger failed because the service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later. 80004005"
I have tried many times now. I have also uninstalled and downloaded the latest version that Win2k (v 7.0.0820) can support and installed that.
Still cannot login. I tried webmessenger.msn.com and that worked fine so the problem is not my login.
My IE does not use proxy and my computer has no firewall.
Has Microsoft decided to block MSN Messenger and only allow Live Messenger?
Any solutions to my problem, anyone?? Other than using WinXP or Vista.
Just tried to sign in again, this time no error, but I get disconnected as soon as I try to sign in.
I don't think Microsoft would block old MSN clients. How about trying alternatives such as Miranda or aMSN?
