CCFL's are $24 for a pair at UVnium.

I’m thinking of upgrading the power supply to 470w and get 1 gb more of ram and a radeon hd 3650 agp ddr2 512mb. How’s that card’s performance? Or should i go for hd 4650? Anyway both cards and the 1gb ram upgrade should allow my pc to handle games like bf2 and bf2142 on high right? Thanks
A Pentium 4 will bottleneck the cards badly. Forget High. Medium should be more suitable.
Originally posted by GGINS:em, how does the processor bottleneck the card? It supports hyperthreading though and 3.00 ghz should be okay wad. Or issit because it’s a single core processor?
The Netburst architecture of Pentium 4 is highly inefficient. A dual-core based on Netburst operating at 3.4GHz or so lost to a Pentium Dual Core running at 1.83GHz.
The HD3650 is a better choice because you wouldn't be wasting performance, unless you can find the HD4650 at a very good price.

SSC is obviously overclocked.
So SSC > Stock. Depends on how far the thing is overclocked.
Alternatively you can sell me your P4 rig :P

Normally the superclocked edition isn't worth.
You could just do the overclocking yourself.
The difference would be the warranty only.

Not worth?
The thing performs the same as a GTX280 for LESS money. It's cooler-running and less power-hungry, so why the hell not?

Andyson 650w
Wdc 1tb hdd
Radeon hd 5770.
Cooler master elite 310
Logitech keyboard+mouse. You guys think it’s a good deal?
It's good, but the HD5770 just kinda CMI.
For the same price, you can get some 6-core loving from AMD and a powerful HD5850. Of course, if you prefer Intel then it's fine. It's a good bundle, IMO. Just that you might feel like the 5770 is a bit wanting in terms of performance.

I mentioned "normally".
Originally posted by GGINS:hmmm… Then x6 1055t vs i5 750 which one is better?(i think i asked before) is the difference made by the 2 extra cores really big? But only has 6 threads right?
For gaming I'd go for the cheaper option.
For things that only use up to 4 threads, go for the 750. Anything else, there's always Thuban.
1055T: 6 cores, 6 threads.
750: 4 cores, 4 threads
The difference is big if the applications can fully use the potential of 6-core computing. If not, the 750 is the better choice. Unless you wish to be able to upgrade your PC more than 2 years down the road. Given Intel's track record, LGA1156 will most likely be replaced with LGA1155 with no backward compatibility offered, unlike AMD.

yeah i'm sure.
how much are u willing to sell? LOL

herp derp bottleneck :D
HD5770 is awesome enough - it plays nearly everything except Crysis and DiRT2..
Or you can Xfire 2 5770's like me and make it really awesome y'know :D

Awesome? lol
I have 2 5750 in xfire and it only provides acceptable.
It only manages to provide the minimum 30fps in DiRT2.
not to mention that the 5770 is only a little faster, unless you volt mod.

My old 4850 kinda too slow for me :P
Almost got enough funds to get a 5850, but I might wait for AMD's SI refresh.
Hmmm im not very sure. Ha will inform you again cause maybe wanna et X10 insteadxD

I’m more concerned with ue3 since i’m a hardcore modder. Anyway can the 1055t cut down loading times and render stuff and heavy particle effects faster?
@SBS7484: hey how much do you offer for tat rig?
UE3 is heavily multithreaded. 1055T or 1090T or better choices.
Yes, 1055T will cut down rendering times due to the extra cores.
1090T is worth getting only if you overclock like crazy, or are noob at overclocking. Unlocked multipliers make it easy. Just raise the multiplier and voltage and you're golden. 1090T processors, with good cooling, can get 4GHz easily.
