What are your strategies or tactics of revising for exams?

Prefer to study at home. No disturbance

In utopia,
study consistently everyday don't have any distractions, everyone has his own different study style. (eg i prefer music and brightly lit and airconditioned places to study,and studying alone, i find that is most conducive to study), others mught like dim light etc, some prefer to study with friends etc read lecture notes before lecture do tutorial immediately after lecture do alot of tys confirm guarantee and chop straight A's
in reality(my reality) do tutorial when got time do alot of tys slack alot too cram last minute before exam/tests tyco tyco can straight A's(for O level only) -
anyway, i find that for o levels, emaths is a subject that you do not need to study for and yet get A1. in fact , my maths teacher who taught both e and a maths used to say if you dont get at least a2 for emaths , you're just dumb.
anyway, for combined humanities, consistent reading and memorising and evaluation of the facts are very very important. you can spot, but have a large margin of error, i.e. study at least 4/5 chapters. you do not want to, on the eve of the exam, to be cramming until 4 am and waking up at 8 for your exam.(that was the mistake i made last yr- i did not consistently read ss and history, and had to cram the eve of the exams(i did not sleep AT ALL before the comb. humans exam). luckily i got an a1.
for the o level pure sciences and amaths, simple. practice, practice, practice. if you notice, in the tys, many questions are repeated. therefore, its likely some of the tys questions may come out word for word or slightly modified. what i did last yr was do alot of test papers (at least 15(no kidding) past school prelim papers before o levels. when you dont know the solution and cant get answer right, check textbook.) studying concepts is useless if u simply read text book. doing it is crucial to an A.yes, i got A's for my pure sciences and a maths.
anyone comment on english / chinese / pure humanities. my study methods for these subjects are erm... atrocious. -
Nowadays it's harder to score A1 for E maths liao.. Because of the Bell curve thing and the number of student taking E maths thing year.

Paying attention during lesson time can replace more than half of your studying time.
The trick is to study/mug effectively. Don't equate time with quality. Study when your concentration is high. If it's waning, rest for a few minutes, get some snacks then come back and continue. Tired? Sleep.
Nevertheless, an hour spent paying attention during lesson is better than two spent studying/mugging. -

since maths is compulsory for all o level takers, NA or express, there is a large proportion of people sitting for emaths paper. thus absolute distinction numbers are high,as it is moderated on a bell curve.
