The trick is to study/mug effectively. Don't equate time with quality. Study when your concentration is high. If it's waning, rest for a few minutes, get some snacks then come back and continue. Tired? Sleep.
Nevertheless, an hour spent paying attention during lesson is better than two spent studying/mugging.
