How to help friend get A1 for O lvl chi?

Hi all. I hav a friend who got B3 for o lvl chi. So im currently trying to help my friend get A1 for e end of year paper. Any tips to share? thks!

copied from "aunt agony"....
use it everyday. i am sure his teacher can pump him. if u wanna help him, maybe during each weekend, give hima topic to write abt.
if u wanna score A1, make sure there are no wrong words inside your compo. many student thinks dat just practise and memorise will do. a significant percentage of marks is allocated to compo. each wrong words will minus abt one mark. if ur fren is gd, maybe u can ask him use more idiom in his compo.
compo sentence structure must also be gd or readable. -
if ur fren scored B3, from experience, he is gd enough in his compre and stuff, but nt gd enough in compo.
usually for chinese, i will encourage pple to write arugmentative topics. because for short stories essay type of topics, u need lots of vocab and gd idioms to "win" the teacher's heart. and dun forget many China students are taking the paper too, and usually their strength is in short story topics, so i will usually encourage local students to write abt those "bao zhang bao dao" topics, as those China students wouldnt be too familar in wads happening in Singapore. -
haha. how i noe these stuff so well? coz i got A1 for O level Chinese, B3 for O level Higher Chinese and A2 for AO level chinese~

Which is why now in uni, when I have grown much more... I start learning more languages... Made up for my failure last time...

dont know leh. anyway oral also cannot re-take. only P1 and P2 can re-take

My normal grade for O Level Chinese was B3.
I was really happy when I got A1.
Luck plays a factor, since you're competing with everybody taking the paper.
Second thing is really just to take the chinese dictionary and take learn a few words each time and hope they come out.
Wait. This is luck also, right?
P.S: Is the format still the same? Ask you to write the actual words to fill in the blanks?

Thats the thing.MOE became smarter. Last time though it was hard, at least we can hardcore mug and memorise.Now they take out all these components so its really daily usage of the language that'll help u ace.Students cant really memorise or really consciously prepare for paper 2 and 3 IMO.Paper 1 can at least read abit of newspaper evryday...Originally posted by CoolMyth:My normal grade for O Level Chinese was B3.
