Ok, i'm seriously confused about this.
How to do L5, highest level, for SS and History. SEQ. ( O levels )
I do know how to write the given factor, Alternative factors etc to get the L4. but i'm totally clueless about the last conclusion part.
I've got different answers from different people:
1) just rank the factors. which is the most important, which is the least important.
2) take 2 factors and compare which is the more important factor
3) dependency method. pick which factor is the most important factor and why it will lead to the other factor
4) state that all factors are equally important and justify why is it so.
5) just pick 1 factor which is the most important and justify why is it so.
For example:
-which is the most important factor that lead to the fall of venice?
-is the role of the government the most important factor that lead to good governance?
-is the role of the women or governance more essential to leading to the decline of birthrate?
-are senior citizens more of a help/hindrance to Singapore development?
-is diplomacy or deterrence more important to safeguard a nation? -
you are going to graft a few humans together and combine them into one like the Frankenstein monster?

My teacher say can compare with several criteria in the last paragraph.If i rmb correctly...
State and explain which factor is more long-term/lasting, and which is short-term/temporary.
Eg in the short term senior citizens are a help as...however in the long term they are a hindrance as the country's resources....
State which 1 is the root cause,giving way to other factors
Eg.Discovery of a new trade route is the most important factor as it leads to new competition of trade rivals..
State which 1 causes the most damage.
Eg The 1964 Federal election in Malaya is the most important factor as it had caused the most repercussions,paving the way for seperation. -
I think the main thing is to have yr criterion of comparison clear.Look at the question. Should the conclusion be based on time scale(Long/short term)?Or root cause leading to other factors?

As these options seem to imply, you need to state which factor you consider to be the most important. ok for a moment i tot u were really combining human beings
ok. since u arelady know L4.
L5 will be the conclusion part whereby u have to interlink the different factors.
like why factor a is most impt, and how will it lead to factor b, and so on.
anyway my teacher last time got say before, u cant get full marks for seq. -
This is what my teacher tell me.
Like if they ask you, is promoting creative and crtitical thinking the most important for singapore to prepare for the challanges in the 21century?
First you talk about that CNC thinking is not the only factors, got other factors like NE and IT tech.
After that you talk about 2 points on how CNC can help us prepare challages for the 21century.
Then do the same for NE.
Then do the same for IT tech.
Then you conclude by saying which one you think its the most important.
And why, must link back to question also.
Then L5 liao. -
Ok, Since you already know L4, And know your SBQ good enough, your A1 is secured. Thats what my teacher told me. He only picked a few 'talented' students and teach them about L5. How is that?

Xephone_xenon: OO?! that's a total new one. I've never heard that before. about writing 2 points about it. i thought only need to write 1 for given factor and alternative factors? Or that's why i have always been doing.
77th Cloud: I'm one of the selected students which my teacher had picked to coach L5. She said that many other better schools are doing L5, so she's picking afew talented one to do it too, to better secure our A1s-Just in case we infer wrongly for our SBQ. But i'm baffled by the various answers i got from various people. Till now, i still have not got an unanimous agreement on what to write for L5 ( aka conclusion ).
Anyone could better enlighten me? -
Dont listen from here if your coached from your teacher. Every teacher asks us to answer in different ways. But most would give you a distinction if you are good enough. However, if you take tips for many different people, strategies from different teachers, you'll end up mixing all of them up and boom!

okay,after several explanations and reading lpx88's post, i've finally concluded what that had been to write for L5..
I think i got it, finally. will try it out and see if it's right. =D
