  Paul would like to send a parcel to his friend in ABC country.
  The freight charge is $8 per kg per km.
  What is the total charge for sending the parcel weighing 12kg for 35km?
  
  The problem is i don't understand the ''per kg per km'' so anyone cares to explain it for me? Thanks

  12 x 8 = AnsA
  AnsA x 35 = Final Answer
  
  think thats the answer..
  
  per kg per km means for each kg that travels each km
  
  means if i have 1 kg parcel and if i want to send to your house which is 2km away, using the $8 per kg per km rate. it would cost me $16

  $8 per kg per km -->> 1kg 1km is $8
  12kg and 35 km -->> how much is 12kg 35km
  
  1kg X 1km = $8
  12kg X 35km = $8 X 12 X 35
  
  Or
  
  1kg X 1km = $8
  1kg X 35km = $8 x 35
  12kg X 35km = $8 X 35 X 12

  You won't be surprised if they come up with such questions for PSLE. Anyway, there are some patterns to be explored... know it and you can solve it very fast.

  * = multiply
  ^ = to the power of
  anyway those taking PSLE in 2009 are allowed to use calculators

  pri 5 from 2008 , pri 6 from 2009
  means whoever this yr in pri 4 can use calculator nxt yr
