Identification of ions and gases

  Hello, do you guys have any special way to remember the table for test of cations and anions?
  
  The ***ppt formed, soluble in excess bla..etc...
  
  I thought may be i could use the "use first letters of each key word to form a sentence" way but it doesnt work.

  try to understand what happens in each reactions.
  
  after that u go thru the usual way of giving them special name/sentence to remember.
  
  actually is quite easy if u have been studying them all the time, those colours and ions will jus come to your mind.

  I keep on writing till I memorize every single word.

  During practical exam, you'll be given that Test for Cation, Anion, and Gases Table.
  
  But for theory exam, you'll have to memorize it because the table will not be given to you.

  Some common ones are easy to remember as they are pretty common in life
  
  Copper, iron, aluminium are 3.

  memorise it. some are easy to remember, e.g. transition metals are coloured and form ppts, group I do not form ppt etc.

  Ok just tried out your way liaoz. Yup the hydroxide part can be memorised, but the ammonia is abit hard cos it seems abit random.
