regarding the Amenities , how is it beneficairy for locals and tourists?
green revo . advantages and disadvantages
pls help
1) What amenities in particular are you referring to?
2) The Green Revolution refers to the huge boom in crop and agricultural surpluses in South-East Asia, in the period starting from the 1960s, due to:
- Increase in use and proliferation of agricultural technology
- Evolving of the associated management skills pertaining to the agricultural business
- Increase in the innovation of crop related products. i.e. high-yielding varieties of rice, fertilizers and pesticides etc.
From the top of my head, I can pull out a couple of advantages from the local and foreign perspective:
Local Perspective:
- Increase in domestic food supply arising from golden harvest of crops
- Drop of real crop prices due to increase in productivity, leading to greater affordability for the low income bracket population. (lower income groups tend to expend the majority of their income on food supplies as their autonomous component forms a bigger part of their consumption)
- Boom in the crop/food export sector of the country and therefore leading to increase in GDP for the country and growth for the economy
Foreign Perspective:
- Increase in abundance of world food supply arising from the Green Revolution
- Surplus of world food supply therefore provides ready aid to famine stricken areas around the globe, preventing a famine on a national scale to break-out.
- Gives attention to the investment opportunities in the South-East asian region pertaining to the agricultural industry, thereby leading to increase in foreign funding and investment, especially in light of the growing demand for bio-fuels and alternative renewable sources of energy.
I can think of a couple more adv and the dis-adv but im not going to spoon-feed you anymore further. Im sure the points that i mentioned above are more then enough to kick-start your train of thoughts.
Good luck!
