lecture is to teach the subject. (1 teacher teaching the whole cohort)
tutorial is to go through the homework that you've done by your own maths tutor.
and you can sit anywhere you want in tutorials i suppose.
lecture you have to sit with your class though for attendance taking

But then my jc the ppl mostly very guai, sit with their own class. Only a few sit with friends from another class.
I tell you, for me, my class in J1 on thursday ends at 11.30. In the end we always go lunch at upper thomson or ri (yea rj canteen food sux) after that. Since the last period of that day is Physics Practical, sometimes we get released at 10+. For fridays, my j1 schedule is lessons all the way until 5pm save for PE and 1hr break.
J2 was slightly more even but the schedule still roughly the same.
Aiya JC life very fast over. Time flies when you have to mug your a*s off for the tests, promos, tests, tests, prelims and a levels. -

Should be a 2 year secondary kind of school. You are studying the same old subject you study in secondary school..

Lifts wise, only 2 lifts to service the entire 2 classroom blocks (one is 7 storey while the other is 5 storey). In between lessons, the lifts are overcrowded (yea some girls taken lift from level 1 to level 2 -_-'). Walking the stairs is actually faster (and helps increase fitness too). Sometimes, it's better to take the lift down in order to go up. Yea it's that bad.
But other than that the facilities are quite new. In my first year they had no aircon but now every classroom is air-conditioned (although some teachers and students complain that anything above 16 deg C is hot -.-). Oh yea, the handicap toilets are always occupied for some reason. Most of the time it's girls but it's an open secret that some couples have sex in the handicap toilets.
Canteen food sucks. A 5 minute walk to the RI canteen yields much better food. It's no surprise that the RI canteen is usually full of RJ people during RJ breaks.
I do not really like the library very much. Still prefer the more cosy one back at ri. And yes, it's known that the mutli-storey library actually offer some guys the chance to upskirt since the study tables on the 2nd tier is beside the metal railings -.- -

studying in any JC will be the same if you really put your heart into it.
just choose the one you like best and you'll enjoy studying there.
i come from a JC currently so you can bet my comments are substantially relevant.
and yes, you don't have a fixed class. you move around the school everyday to attend lectures and tutorials.

but if u are those lazy kind or nt too smart type, den nt advisable to go jc, coz later end up like me, hav to transfer to poly.
study hard and think abt it before u decide whether u really wan jc or poly. -

The canteen wasn't too bad, and a short walk out actually brings you to Ghim Moh food centre, which isn't too bad too. And a slightly longer walk brings you to cold storage jelita, where my CCA had a weekly pizza hut buffet. Then a longer walk brings you to Holland V
