  What's the question asking you to do? Simplify, factorise, expand?

  yeah, the question itself either does not seem to ask for a lot, or wants an answer through a method which it will describe. =S

  the full thing is like " [(14.3T^0.9) + (0.033T^1.7) + (1.1x10^-7 T ^3.9) ] - [ (0.0044T^1.6) + (0.0033T^1.7)] = ???

  The answer is like 0.1155T^1.7 + 0.14087T^1.6

  is this still the full question? If not, please post out the whole question, not just a part of it. Do not summarize it as summarized and part questions do not give us the whole picture or what the question is asking.

  This equation still seems wrong. By substituting T=1 to both sides, the result is different.
