this question on functions the two strokes

  how come the part I-2I is = to 2 har?? wad does this two strokes mean? l x l  i know its modulus but when we're not dealing with drawing/reflecting graphs just solving normal equation like this wad do we do with the l x l??

  l -1 | = +1

  | 1 | = +1

  Essentially, modulus ensures that whatever is inside the | | signs will become a positive.

  When you are not drawing graphs, u write it as what u just did ma! :)
