anyone taken H1 or H2 lit before? i wanna know how lit is like in jc.. ty~ :)
bump... anyone knows?
bump~ help..
Yup i took H2 lit before. It depends on where u take the subject, for example, Humanities centre vs. non-Huamnities centre. Because in Humanities centres, your tutors are most likely to be expat tutors (foreign talent). There are also Singaporean tutors, but usually deemed by MOE to be more qualified to teach in Humanities centres.
Schools have different elective papers for H2 Lit, ranging from Paper 2 to Paper 5. Paper 2 is Neoclassical Lit, Paper 3 is Modern Lit, Paper 4 is Other Worlds, and Paper 5 deals with identity. Paper 1 is compulsory for H2 Lit, and it involves the 3 common genres of drama, poetry and novels.
JC Lit is totally different from sec school. You will be taught this vital skill of 'close reading' which is applicable in any text. It will be tough, and interpreting the text is only half the battle. The other half must be won in the essays, which involve another skill.
Good luck with Lit!
