That's nice. Particularly in the last few years, increased international exposure (eg. via MICE events) to Singapore has also significantly and noticeably increased Singapore's exposure (at least a verbal mention, if not entire scenes shot here) within Hollywood (and other international) movies and TV dramas, which is a nice thing. Just a couple of decades ago, hardly anyone knew Singapore even existed.

This is China, whose Gini coefficient is even worse than Singapore. The girl will likely inherit tens or even hundreds of millions of USD, while the guy's family struggles to put food on the table for their next meal. So on a pragmatic side, such an uneven relationship is almost always doomed from the start (with totally incompatible social and professional lives). On a spiritual side however, if she truly loved him, she could have easily (without compromising her own luxurious quality of life) supported him and his family financially (eg. a monetary loan to upgrade their businesses). And if her prejudicial and socially dogmatic parents object, this is a spiritual karmic opportunity for her to stand up for her own convictions, and do what her heart tells her. In this particular case however, it's obvious pragmatism far outweighs spirituality in importance for her. Which is the case for the vast majority of people in this pragmatic world anyway. Btw, the food really looks thoroughly unedible.
